Hi, I’m Journey (now). I was today year’s old when I decided I could name myself, and then make it real. Like, legally real. Staying myself meant becoming Journey.

What was the biggest change this year brought you?

We can’t treat suicide as a behavioral problem. If we focus on suicide as the problem, then we don’t fix the root causes. We need to recognize risk factors and provide social support for individuals and groups.

Commonly we spend our energy trying to avoid or react to these unwanted feelings, thoughts, memories, urges or sensations that we get stuck or life gets worse. The good news, with healthy coping skills, you can get unstuck and move through life regardless of the discomfort of the moment or experience.
